Romantic breaks are good for us after the stress of the work week, but they do not need to be expensive, don't have to involve travel, and do not have to last the whole weekend, although if you can manage the time, it'll probably be good for you. There are lots of stresses and worries in our lives, and planning your weekend does not need to add to this. It should be a fun time, deciding where to go and what to do, knowing that you are going to be spending some high quality time with the one you love. You don't have to spend a lot of dollars to do this, although a few treats are always a good idea! And the good news is that there are a variety of romantic weekend ideas that you can try.
So, what romantic suggestions can you come up with? A romantic dinner for two is generally acceptable to most people, and saves someone cooking. Although dinners out are generally good, if you have the time, planning a special menu with your loved one, then going to the nearby market for the fresh food before spending the time together cooking in the kitchen can be more romantic and fun than you think. Just spending the time focused on something other than work can be a great feeling, and being able to talk about what vegetables to buy can be a stress reliever! Basically your romantic weekend just needs to be something that is different from how you would normally spend the time.
Needless to say, should you are making dinner at home, then you can use some candles to light the room, or you could pack up your meal and take it as a picnic somewhere if the weather is being type to you. And you can play some music that you both enjoy, rather than having the local news on the television, or the latest sports game.
Which brings up another point. The purpose of the weekend break is to spend quality time together, so it is great if you can limit the use of the cell phones. It should not be about business.
Playing the tourist in your own city works well as well. Most urban areas have developed a lot over the years, and taking a walk around an area may bring back some happy memories. Or you can look at the styles of the homes around you. Not many people take the time to do this, we become so focused on work that we have no idea what is around us. So, start walking in your neighbourhood, and see what catches your eye, for the correct and the wrong reasons. You probably have no idea how many instances you go past a home without noticing it! And your strolls don't have to be in perfect weather. You can experience a rainy day for a change as well, provided you are dressed sensibly.
